Q

Poiseulle’s Law

A

Q = (pi) r^4 (P1-P2)/8nl

Q = flow
r = radius of vessel
P1, P2 = pressure at either end of vessel
n = viscosity of blood
l = length of vessel

R = 8nl/(pi)r^4 ….. So radius is major determinant of vascular resistance
