Paranoid personality disorder - paranoid delusions / distracted
Schizoid personality disorder - Emotionally cold / fantasy world / lack of interest in others
What is included in group B (Emotional) PD?
Antisocial - aggressive and antisocial / irresponsible
Emotional / Borderline - strong emotions which are hard to cope with
Histrionic - attention seeking / constant need for approval
Narcissistic - self importance (psychopathy)
What is included in group C (Anxious) PD?
Obsessive Complusive - anxious and craves perfectionism
Anxious - anxious and insecure
Dependent - passive / clingy / helpless when alone
Who is more likely to be affected by borderline personality disorder?
Females
Who is more likely to be affected by antisocial personality disorder?

In order to make a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder what must be present?
Unstable relationships Extreme reactions to being left Impulsivness Self harm and threats of self harm Paranoid thoughts when stressed
When assessing someone who has just attempted suicide, what is important in the history
- What happened - why now / how did you do it / did you want to be found / how were they found / how do they feel about the attempt now?
- Background to the attempt - low mood generally / support network / any trauma recently
- Risk assessment - any plans to do it again / if you left the hospital now what would happen
