Times of the clock

A
In 12 hour clock (everyday conversation)
Es ist ein Uhr
Es ist 'fünf Minuten nach Drei'
'Zwanzig vor drei'
'Halb vier' (half three)

In 24 hour clock:
5.15 = fünf Uhr fünfzehn

To express ‘at’ a certain time, German uses ‘um’
Er kommt um drei Uhr

To give a general time Germans use:
Um drei Uhr nachts (3 in Morning/night)
Um neun Uhr vormittags (nine in the morning)
Um zwölf Uhr nachmittags (12 noon)
Um drei Uhr nachmittags (3 in the afternoon)
Um Mitternacht (Midnight)

Generally ‘der fünfte April’ is used for the date

There are three different ways to express day followed by date:
Accusative: Montag, den 5. Juni
Accusative: am Montag, den 5. Juni
Dative: am Montag, dem 5 Juni
