Q

Improv response

A
  • process of brainstorming words to generate movement that relates to my intention
  • theme of solo
  • lethargic, heavy and exhaustion
  • step forward as body contracts with arms covering face stop in stillness, showing exhaustion and heavy
  • the process helped to create movement for my comp solo that met my intention
  • as by focusing on words such as exhaustion it encouraged me to make movement that expressed this like showing exhaustion through the weight of my upper body

Q

Refinement response

A
  • refine direction by drawing a floor plan, realising my beginning section did not have clear structure
  • i had an forwards and backwards direction because…
  • why did this not work
  • instead decided use the direction of a circle as i performed pacing, frantic and medium level movement eg. lunges as it showed the mental and physical effects of being restless and frustrated
  • by refining it allowed to meet the criteria and show the ABC form clearly and intention

Q

Performance response

A
  • performance process = focusing on demonstrating my motifs and how i manipulated them to meet criteria
  • 3 motifs that helped to show the emotion of the story and how the emotions progressed through a narrative form
  • falling asleep motif to show transition of beginning and development section
  • had to make sure my focus was indirect to make the motif seem i was falling asleep
  • by demonstrating clear motif through the focus of my body it enabled to tell story through choreographic devices to meet criteria
