16
Q

DLP projector

A

Millions of tiny mirrors are used to reflect light on to the projection lens.

17
Q

Inkjet printer

A

Cheap but low quality printing for home use. Ink is sprayed on to the paper with many nozzles.

18
Q

Laser printer

A

Expensive but high quality printing for commercial use. A powder called toner is used to print the image.

19
Q

3D printer

A

CAD files are used to create 3D objects, created from many very thin horizontal layers. Polymers, acrylic or plastic are used to create the object, one layer at a time from the bottom.

20
Q

2D CAM machine

A

A 2D cutting machine e.g. laser cutter, blade cutter (e.g. vinyl cutter) or water jet cutter

21
Q

3D CAM machine

A

3D cutters cut a 3D object from materials such as wood, MDF, wax, plastic and acrylic. The end result is similar to 3D printing but created in a different way.

22
Q

Speaker

A

Output device to output sound

23
Q

Actuator

A

A mechanical output device that produces movement. Actuators can rotate, open, close, push and pull an object.

24
Q

Headphone

A

Output device to output sound without disturbing other people
