Every second outer plate is extended in one direction so it cant go in the guard if incorrect

It should be replaced

When would you proof-loading a chain?
When you remove a small part of a long chain

2% on any section
How should chains be stored?
In a bath of oil or if not required immediately then coiled up in greaseproof paper

What is the advantages of having angled teeth on a gear?
They transmit higher force and they are quieter
What is backlash?
The amount of play between teeth on gears
What is backlash tolerance?
The allowable amount of backlash
What is the purpose of backlash?
To prevent jamming and to make contact on both sides of the tooth at the same time
