they are technically outgrowths of the brain- covered in meninges and all!
What type of ganglia have no synapses?
sensory ganglia
do autonomic ganglia have synapses or no ?
yes they do
how many order neurons make up sensory neurons?
They are typically 3 order neurons
where does somatic sensation go to?
to the trigeminal nuclei
where does visceral sensation (including taste) go?
to the nucleus solitarious
what are the three types of motor neurons?
somatic motor
branchiomotor - special visceral motor to arches
and parasympathetic- general visceral motor/secretomotor
why is the mucosa/motor innervation of the tongue to different?
because the mucosa is developed from the pharyngeal arch but the motor is developed differently
