What happens
Narrator scavenges for food
A place he once knew has been alienated by the martians

The red weed has spread alienating the landscape, the road speed on the spear echoes the martians control. Martians toke over the animals kingdom while the red weed controlled earths ecosystem
How does wells exaggerated the damage
Contrasting different landscapes some unscathed but some complete destroyed, enormous suspense creating if humanity survived
What has the red weed started to die
Spreads far and wide that narrator highlights the fact it is unfit
From earths environment much like the martians and they are more advanced but not as efficient on earth. Red weed developed without bacteria so hasn’t built up the tolerance, hinting Darwinism and natural selection
