April 6th youth movement was created by the same people who started the egyption revolution

They reached out to people on the internet, on Facebook, to call for supporters to demonstrate in front of the Ministry of Interior to protest against the police brutality that had terrorized Egyptians.

Actual spark that ignited the Egyptian revolution was inspired by the Tunisian revolution

Internet networks, mobile networks, pre-existing social networks, street demonstrations, occupations of public squares and friday gatherings around the Mosques contributed to the networks that enacted the Egyptian revolution

Social media networks played an important role
-People would record the events on their phones and post the videos on youtube and facebook.

Had a public space where the movement could exist, thus getting it more media coverage for it to spread .

Egyptian government would block internet and phone access so people wouldn’t know when the events would take place.
-During this time, people would end up communicating through landlines

freedom, and social justice were the main themes of the revolution
