Q

What does PROM do?

A

prevents muscle shortening
helps to maintain the memory of the movement pattern by stimulating kinaesthetic receptors
improving sense of position and movement

16
Q

What is rigidity?

A

resistance

same in flexors and extensors

17
Q

What is spasticity?

A

increased tone during fast movement
catch on movement
increased tendon reflexes

18
Q

Management of normal tone

A
to maintain soft tissue length
maintain joint alignment
regain muscle length
prevent muscle shortening
regain muscle alignment
