Describe the method of this practical

A

1, Adjust the bridges on the string to 1m (measured using a meter rule)
2, Increase the frequency of the signal generator from zero until the string resonates at its fundamental frequency
3, Read the frequency on the signal generator.
4, Repeat this for 0.9, 0.8, 0.7, 0.6 and 0.5
5, Repeat each of different distances to obtain a mean value of f for each l.
6, Draw a graph the mean of 1/f against L.
7, Draw a line of best fit, this should be a straight line through the origin
8, The gradient is 1/fl and the speed v is given by 2/gradient in ms^-1
