is less than 30 minutes fuel endurance;
• By reporting fuel remaining in minutes to ATC and, time permitting, to the dispatcher

45
Q

When is reduced thrust prohibited?

A

Flex thrust takeoffs are prohibited when:
• Cowl and/or wing anti-ice are/is selected ON
• The runway is contaminated
• Tailwind components are in excess of 5 knots
• Windshear warnings are forecasted or reported
• Anti-skid is inoperative
• Takeoff behind a heavy or larger aircraft
• CRJ 200: Flaps 8 takeoff

46
Q

When is Continuous Ignition Required

A
  • Takeoffs and landings on contaminated runways
  • Takeoffs with high crosswind components > 10 knots (CRJ 200 only)
  • Flight through moderate or heavier intensity rain
  • Flight through moderate or heavier intensity turbulence
  • Flight in the vicinity of thunderstorms
47
Q

When must you do a cold weather preflight inspection

A

a) The OAT is 5ºC or less, or
b) The wing fuel temperature is 0ºC or less, or
c) Atmospheric conditions conducive to icing exist, or
d) The aircraft has remained overnight and may have frozen contaminants due to
exposure to frost or precipitation, which could involve the entire airframe, or
e) On any through flight where residual ice from the inbound flight may have
accumulated on airframe surfaces or components, or
f) Cold soak ice is suspected in the fuel tank area.
