A

4 components:
•Crime: distinct problem with focus on visible forms of victimization
•Holding people accountable
•Self reliance
•Retributive justice (punishment > rehabilitation)

A
  • Extends on conservative strand by incorporating more types of victimization (corporate)
  • Concerned with making the victim whole again (restitution, meditation, reconciliation)

A
  • Human suffering (poverty, unemployment, inadequate healthcare systems) create the social issues that make up the crime problem
  • CJS: worsens the issue (police rule-breaking and political agendas)
