ECG 2 - T wave, ST segment, Branch Block Flashcards

1
Q

T wave inversion - normal in ?, ? and ?/?
may present several pathologies
-Ischaemia - in both ? and ?, t waves invert over ?-?h, often ?
-? hypertrophy - in leads looking at the involved ?
-could mean ???
-? treatment - also gives classical sloped ST segments

Q

ST segment abnormalities

  • should be ? - same level as PT interval
  • ST elevation indicates ? myocardial injury - either recent ? or due to ? - this is not usually localized so occurs in all leads
  • ST ? usually sign of ischaemia rather than ?

Branch block - ?? interval is normal but there is abnormal ? through the left or right bundle branches (of ?)
-delayed ventricular ? therefore leads to ? QRS

Q

RBBB
best seen in ? - if this is pointing ? then it is RBBB - as this points right when you turn it clockwise

? treatment is needed but consider underling ??D or ??

Q

LBBB
best seen in ? - if this is pointing up it is LBBB
can look at V1 and see if pointing ? as this would point left when turned clockwise

often ass w T wave ? in all/some of the ? leads (1, V1 and V5/6)

if LBBB present - ? further ECG interpretation is poss

  • if aSx, consider ? ?
  • if recent chest pain, consider acute ??
