A

Place is created by human experiences. It has an objective meaning and social/cultural connections. Whilst space has no subjective meaning and no value.

  2. Direct comparisons can be made between places

A

It allows for much more development through trading and getting in skilled workers from different countries.

What are the negatives of space time compression?

A

Could lead to exploits in cheap labour, in children and poor work conditions.
Also, the compression can lead to issues surrounding terrorism and armed conflicts, as opposing groups have more mobility, greater technology and can organise attacks.

Give an example of a clone town

A

One town under threat in 2012 was Totnes, South Devon, when a costa was proposed to be built there. Locals instantly protested against the idea and got the proposals moved back for years.
