Define a Knockout.

A

If you lose your out of the competition and if you win then your through to the next round where you will verse the winner of the other game.

A

Where every player or team, verses everybody else.

Define what a Pool event is.

A

Similar to Round Robin where everyone plays everyone and the two people or teams with the most wins goes into the final series.

Define what a Carnival event it.

A

Commonly used for sports where there are a large number of individual events. e.g Swimming Carnival or Olympics.

Define a Seeded event.

A

The athletes are graded or ranked on their ability. better athletes have a higher ranking. The structure is used to form pools, round robins, or knockout tournaments.

A

To organise an activity that will require an individual or group to participate in an activity or a series of activities that last several says or weeks. It is commonly used to organise outdoor education or adventure type experiences.

A

Allows a maximum participation in a series of activities. Competitors are grouped together usually by age (e.g 14yrs) then they move around a series of events as a group and participate in all events on offer.
