It is located in the south of Iceland on the mid Atlantic ridge which is the Eurasian plate and North American plate sliding apart its neighbouring volcano was keykjavik.

A
Many earthquakes before the volcano, magma started rising.

Effects
A
1000s of flights were cancelled , tephra ash/ice crystals were dangerous for planes to fly, glacier water caused flooding , warmth and mineral ps helped crops grow, cloud of ash covered crops and animals starved.

Human responses

They fed the animals lots before the volcano hit, made houses as solid as possible , got more famous so more tourists, no planes flew for a while, rivers were dug deeper to get rid of water .
