- seen as loud and theatrical
- not enough time to allow all MP’s to ask questions
- recently May reassured the sustainability and importance of fishing industry when questioned about it

Select Committees
A
- minimum of 11 members, job is to examen issues in detail, including spending and government policy
- currently 19 committees who gather information and present it to house of commons
- government does not have to act upon information, can reject it after 60 days
- recently health committee recommended tax on sugary drinks to reduce child obesity which was granted

Adjournment Debates
A
- half an hour debate at end of each day, MP’s can raise issues or concerns
- poor attendance at this time and only select MP’s chosen to air their concerns
- little media coverage

Backbench Debates
A
- Backbench business committee considers and awards proposals for debates including e-petitions
- no fixed time allocated meaning depends on time left over from other business finishing
- Feb 2017 parliament debated on e-petition calling for Donald Trump to be prevented from making a state visit to UK was denied
