A

3. Efficieny Increases - He gives everyone a platter of fresh salmon sashimi fish. People keep on asking for more and more.

4. Reduces Duplication - He goes to the miniature stage and starts playing a dafli. A bunch cats follows the sound and comes to the stage. He starts throwing the duplicate cats at the crowd (reducing duplication).

5. Training - A train comes through the right side wall and crashes into the stage killing Dubey.

6. Attention - Everyone starts attending that particular function and pay attention to Dubey’s body. Everyone attends Dubey’s funeral function.

Disadvantages

1. Less Emphasis on Objectives - Nassir-ud-din, on hearing about this does phasi saying that he no longer has any objective in life. He stands on a dart board on the objective.

2. Co-Ordination Problems - He looks up and ties the chord around his neck, but suddenly there are problems in the chord and it starts tearing.

3. Conflict of Interests - An onlooker looks at a traffic cone on the ground and flicks it with his fingers, and instead of landing on Nassir-ud-din’s face, it lands on a place wear ants are resting. The ants scurry away.

Q

Difference Between Functional and Divisional Structure

A

There are two giant shadi functions going on on the left and right. They are divided by a giant gold fence. Imagine yourself as the various people entering the two functions.

1. Formation - Early morning, when the sun is rising, everyone has to fill forms to get into the functions. To the function on the right side, people have to bring a product with them of any kind when signing the form and there is a very big line. Functional - formation based on functions. Divisional - formation based on product llines.

2. Specialisation - For the function on the left, you have to wear special shoes made out of silver and diamonds. On the right side, you have to put a special product like a powder on your shoes to enter. Functional - emphasis functional specialisation. Divisional - emphasis on divisional specialisation.

3. Responsibility - Both sides have red trees where they have fixed their very own race-wala pony (responsibility). On the left side, it is very difficult to fix responsibility and it starts dancing and drinking with everyone. On the right side, a bunch of products have been placed on the pony so it is very easy to fix at one spot. Functional - difficult fo fix on department. Divisional - easy to fix responsibility for perfomance.

4. Managerial Development - Dev-D comes to the door to meet manager. When he goes to the function on the left, they let him meet the manager at the top. But in the right one, they don’t, so he takes an auto gives the gaurd money (autonomy) and is able to go inside. Functional - managerial development difficult as each functional manager has to report to top management. Divisional - easy, due to autonomy and chance to perform multiple functions helps in managerial development

5. Cost - On the function on the right they are selling duplicates, at higher cost than normal products also. The people at the function on the left show knives and make all the duplicates run away, saving alot of money. Functional - functions not duplicated, hence lower cost. Divisional - Duplication of resources/functins, hence costly

6. Co-Ordination - Vicks has sponsored both the functions. The left function uses a chord and tries tying vicks boxes of multiple sizes together, they can’t do so easily. The function on the right ties only one sized vicks boxes togehter using chord, so they can do so very easily. Functional - Difficult for a multi-product company. Divisional - Easy, because all functions related to particular product integrated in one department.
