How long is the prodromal period for measles?
What are the characteristics of the prodromal period.
Approx. 3 days
Fever, malaise, malaise, and anorexia, followed by conjunctivitis, coryza, and cough.
How does the severity of conjunctivitis present in measles?
Severity of conjunctivitis is variable and may also be accompanied by lacrimation or photophobia but is typically not exudative.
How long does it take for the exanthema to develop following exposure to measles?
Exanthem develops approx. 14 days following exposure
Where does the measles rash start?
Rash first appears behind the ears and at the hairline of the forehead.
How does the measles rash spread?
Cephalocaudally (head to toe) and centrifugally (spreading from the center)

What parts of the body does it spare?
Neck, upper trunk, lower trunk, extremities.
Spares the palms and soles.
