A

Produced by thyroid gland
Affects cells in heart increasing heart rate
Increases metabolic rate = affects growth rate

How does the fight or flight response work?

A

Stressor perceived - hypothalamus triggers activity in sympathetic branch of ANS
Changes from parasympathetic state to sympathetic state
Stress hormone adrenaline released from adrenal medulla - creates arousal needed
Parasympathetic NS returns body to resting state
