What does the small intestine do?
Breaks up food and absorbs it
What does the liver do?
Makes and stores some substances and destroys others
What does the rectum do?
It stores faeces (wasted materials excreted by the liver and unwanted food).
What do the lungs do?
They get oxygen into the blood for respiration and excrete carbon dioxide.
What does the bladder do?
It stores urine
What do the kidneys do?
There are one on each side. Clean the blood and and produce urine to excrete wastes.
What is another name for windpipe?
Trachea
What is another name for food pipe?
Gullet
What does the large intestine do?
It removes water from unwanted food
What organs are in the circulatory system?
The heart, the veins, the kidneys.
What organs are in the ventilation system?
The lungs, the windpipe (trachea) and the diaphragm
What organs are in the urinary system?
The rectum and the bladder
What organs are in the locomotor system?
Muscle and bones
What organs are in the digestive system?
The food pipe (gullet), the small intestine, the large intestine, the stomach and the liver.
What tissues form the heart?
Muscle tissue, fat and nerve
