A
  1. Co. Code represents an independent company in the legal sense;
  2. Sales orgs and plants are assigned uniquely to one co. code;
  3. A sales org can be assigned to several plants. A plant can also be assigned to several sales orgs;
  4. In the sales order, the system automatically creates a delivery plant based on a priority rule;
  5. A sales org can also sell from a plant assigned to a different co. code (i.e. Intercompany sales processing);
  6. You can differentiate plants with same sales org by making the plant dependent on the distribution channel.

A
  1. Each co. code uses GL accounts from exactly one COA;
  2. In FI, business transactions are performed at co. code level;
  3. Based on unique assignment between sales org and co. code, the system automatically determines the co. code when you enter the sales org in the order;
  4. Business area is an org unit used for internal reporting. A co. code may be divided in multiple bus. areas or a bus. area may be shared by several co. codes;
  5. Business areas are optional;
  6. The business area is determined for each order item according to defined rules.
