what is the classification of cataracts ?

A

congenital cataracts less than 1 percent
inherited
congenital infection - rubella

acquired cataracts more than 99 percent 
- senile !! - with age the lens become more opaque 
- diabetes mellits 
- renal insufficiency - dialysis 
- galactosemia 
- chronic uveitis 
viterctomy 
- medically inducing glucocorticoids 
trauma 
radiation

A

slit lamp - grey , yellow , brow turbidity in lens

front rosette opacity in lens - contusion cataract

posterioir rosette opacitification - perforation cataracts

A

except for galactosemia
surgey is needed - congenital cataracts operated as early as possible to prevent loss of vision
