Q

What’s reverse Colle’s fracture?

A

Q

What’s Galeazzi fracture?

A

Galeazzi fracture

  • fracture of the wrist
  • dislocation of distal radio-ulnar joint

Usually due to fall on outstretched hand with elbow in flexion

Q

Difference between Monteggia vs Galezzi fractures

A
  • A Monteggia fracture is a fracture of the proximal ulna with dislocation of the radial head.
  • A Galeazzi fracture is a fracture of the distal radius with dislocation of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ)

Q

Mnemonic for Monteggia vs Galezzi fracture

A
  • MUGR (pronounced “MUGGER”): identifies the fractured bone.
  • MU: Monteggia Ulna
  • GR: Galeazzi Radius
  • Use “A to Z” to remember the location of the fracture-dislocation.
  • ‘A’ is proximal (MonteggiA)
  • Radial head dislocation and proximal ulna fracture
  • ‘Z’ is distal (GaleazZi)
  • Distal radioulnar joint dislocation and distal radius fracture

  • compression fracture
  • commonly seen in children due to bones being softer and porous in kids
