Pathologic findings of Inclusion Body Myositis

A

Cytotoxic CD8-positive T lymphocytes invade the endomysium (within the fascicles); primary target is the myofibril itself
Rimmed vacuoles and inclusion bodies on light microscopy
Filamentous tubules on electron microscopy = highly specific
