The crankshaft slows, flyweights slow, they fall inward, opening the pilot valve to allow for oil to go into the dome, which moves the blades to a lower pitch to allow it to catch back up with the desired RPM

What is the overspeed condition?

A

Ex: Pitch down without reducing power.

Crankshaft speeds up, flyweights fall outward, lifting the pilot valve upward to make oil flow from the propeller dome, which in terms will increase the blade angles to higher pitch - making the RPM slow down to desired setting
