Rheumatoid arthritis:
• Inflammatory and auto-immune in cause
• Can affect any joint 
• Occurs bilaterally 
• 40 - 50 years age
Osteoarthritis:
• Degenerative in cause (overuse, too much weight)
• Affects manly weight bearing joints
• Occurs only unilaterally 
• 50 - 70 age
