LIST and Define the stages of the General Adaptation Syndrome.

A

Stressor- Maybe threating or exhilarating
Alarm- he body’s initial response to stress with changes that lower resistance
Resistance- If stressor continues, the body mobilizes to withstand stress and return to normal.
Homeostasis- Body maintains balanced state.
Exhaustion- Ongoing stressors deplete body’s resources so we function less than normal
Illness/Death- Body’s resources are not replenished and/ or additional stressors occur, making the bosy suffer breakdowns.

A

The brain becomes more alert, the digestive system slows down, your heart rate and blood pressure rise, the adrenal glands produce stress hormones, your breathing quickens, and your muscles tense.

A

A- Is Aggressive, hard Driven, impatient, and has high levels of distress due to the anger and aggression.
B- Is Easy Going, laid-back, patient, and has low levels of distress
C- Is Hard Driven, non confrontational, quiet, high levels of distress due to keeping emotions bottled up until one explodes.

A

It depresses the immune system, leads to an increased susceptibility to diseases, and interferes with the body’s natural ability to heal.
