Q

Benefits of selective felling/cutting

A

Helps to maintain nutrients in soil,
Allows more light to reach ground level to stimulate growth of plant species,
Seeds from neighbouring trees can reach the cut area,
Enhances biodiversity,
Dead leaves from uncut trees can continue to add nutrients to the soil,
Secondary Succesion can take place,
basically… HABITATS ARE MAINTAINED AND MORE NICHES WILL BE AVAILABLE
