What does acetylcholine stimulate?
gastric glands-major release of gastric juice
What does it cause some cells in the stomach to release?
gastrin-hormone
What two things does gastrin (hormone) do?
Increase secretion of gastric glands
Increase mitosis in mucosa of stomach and intestine-replacing any damaged cells
Where does chyme enter?
small intestine
What does the acid of chyme cause?
sympathetic impulses to inhibit gastric secretion
What does proteins and fats in chyme stimulate?
intestinal wall to release cholecystokinin (peptide hormone)
What does the release of cholecystokinin do?
Decrease gastric motility- small intestine filling/stomach emptying
