Any act or omission by a psychologist.
What does multiple relationships include?
A friend or colleague (non prof. relationship), in another prof relationship, in a non prof relationship with an associated party. Or a recipient of a service provided by the same client.

Who can’t a psychologist have a sexual relationship with? What about for a psychiatrist?
A client or someone closely connected to them, or within 2 years of being a client. Need to seek advice from senior psych if wish to after 2 years to reduce chance of exploitation. Not ever.
Why is sexual contact with clients so damaging?
Leaves clients feeling ambivalent towards their counsellor, guilty, isolated, empty, thought & identity disturbances, loss of trust, sexual confusion, unstable mood, suppressed rage & greater suicide risk.
What are the typical characteristics of a counsellor who has a sexual boundary violation with a client?
- Male, middle aged
- Professionally isolated
- Suffering personal distress/mid-life crisis
- Marital problems
- Self discloses to younger female clients
