How did Charles I at first attempt to make Arminianism the dominance?

A

1) Charles forbid public discussions of religious doctrine ( restricted the Puritans and Calvinists as part of their belief was to discuss their religion)
2) Appointed Arminian clergy to key roles e.g. Laud as bishop of London in 1628 + mem of privy council
3) Laud appointed 1633 Archbishop of Canterbury.= imposed beliefs across England.
