Minimum Takeoff Fuel - MIN T/O

A

Fuel required at takeoff roll to meet all regulatory requirements. Burn plus alternate plus FAR

Trip Fuel

A

From takeoff to touchdown for a specific aircraft at planned aircraft weight. Also adjusted for known MEL items. Trip fuel does NOT include taxi fuel

Alternate Fuel

A

The fuel to fly from the destination airport to the alternate at the planned landing weight at destination. Uses standard climb, cruise, and descent data. Uses forecast winds. Same if flight was a scheduled flight between city pairs.

Reserve Fuel

A

Required by FAR. Provides for unanticipated delays. Can be used with no consequence. Domestic :45 minutes. Flag :30 minutes or 2 hours at 1500 AFE.

Contingency Fuel

A

Required by FAR for known contingencies such as holding. Computed based upon planned landing weight at 1500’ clean configuration, and holding airspeed in a racetrack pattern.

Structural Check Fuel

A

If fuel is added for structural check reasons. Usually in conjunction with a MEL item or a load planning issue such as CG or ballast.

A

Fuel that may not be burned. Usually in conjunction with a MEL item or a CG limit.

Analyzed Contingency Fuel - ACF

A

Difference between planned and actual block fuel. Uses historical data between city pairs, time of day, over the past two years. ACF90 or ACF99. Example: 90% of same flights flown experienced a certain burn.
