- fluids

Nursing care for a patient with Chronic Kidney Disease (CDK)
- monitor I&Os, daily weight
- protect skin from breakdown
What should be avoided if a patient has Chronic Kidney Disease (CDK)
- NSAIDs
- contrast dye
- magnesium containing antacids
What is AV Fistula
connection between an artery and vein that allows for dialysis access
(surgically done)
How should you mature a new AV Fistula
perform hand exercises
What NOT to do with an AV Fistula
-no BP or blood draws from that arm
do NOT carry items or sleep on the arm
