Q

What is the difference between Ji + Ju?

A

Ji- visible, localized, painful in a fixed position, located in blood phase + associated w/ Zang organs
Primary pathogenesis: internal accumulation of Blood Stasis, soft/hard masses
TP: invigorate blood, remove stasis, soften + remove masses

Ju- invisible, intermittent, pain in a wandering place, located in Qi phase + associated w/ Fu organs
Primary pathogenesis: Qi disorders, S/sx may disappear after alleviation
TP: Soothe LR + regulate/move Qi + remove masses

Q

All of the etiologies have the following pathogenesis.

A

Damage LR + SP –> disharmony of Zang-Fu organs (LI, BL, ST + uterus)–> create either Qi stagnation, Blood Stasis, Phlegm Retention + Dampness –> all result in Ji Ju
