Q

Brief

A

Prior to 80 kts, we may abort the takeoff for any system malfunction or master caution. Call what you see and I will say abort or continue.

From 80 kts to V1, we will only abort the takeoff for an engine fire, engine failure, predictive windshear, or if the aircraft is unsafe to fly.

I will announce “abort” stay on the controls until I make a positive control input and I say “I have the aircraft.” Call the tower and I will talk to the folks. After the aircraft is stopped, we’ll come together and run the QRH and post-RTO considerations.

After V1, we’ll take it in the air. If it’s your leg, continue flying. If it’s my leg, I’ll transfer controls to you at a safe altitude. If it’s a no time bucket, set us up for a 10 mile final to the return runway. Get my attention when you call for gear down.
