Give one example of a pressure group campaign 1 - British lung foundation
A
- had a petition which gathered 50,000 signatures and banned smoking in cars with children, this came into effect in 2014
- also changed cigarette packets to plain ones with health warnings and graphic images
- this petition spread awareness and made it more safe for children with parents who smoke.
- gained the support of MPs and the public And social media

One example of a pressure group campaign - protection against stalking
A
- launched a campaign to introduce a new law making stalking a specific offence
- supported by the probations officers union, PAS set up and independent parliamentary inquiry persuading MPS and peers from all parties to serve on it
- the inquiry report was published in February 2012 with support form 60 MPs and peers
- it became protection of freedoms acts in April 2012 it made stalking a criminal offence
- reasons for success
- the inquiry allowed victims to be heard, they gained support from a wide range of. Important organisations and groups
- they used lobbying - influencing governments decisions
- they had gained support from all political parties
