What is intrinsic motivation?
Motivation from within the person
What is extrinsic motivation?
Motivation external to the person

A developmental shift from intrinsic to extrinsic motivation as age increases

A decrease in intrinsic motivation from 3rd-8th grade, but few changes in extrinsic motivation
