Two difference between active and passive
Active require direct user participation
Passive require no user effort

Active can provide more detail or subjective context
Passive give real time continue data but less context.
When to use each method
Active: best for collection opinion or preference, eg product feedback survey
Passive: ideal for tracking behaviours over time, like app use age or website clicks
