A

Drug reaction presenting with vague upper respiratory symptoms 2-3 weeks after starting a drug, then painful red macules. Takes up 10% of body area.

What is erythema multiforme?

A

A hypersensitivity reaction, usually induced by HSV. Shows target lesions.

Does not progress to SJ or TEN

What is bullous pemphigoid?

A

Immunobullous disorder caused by IgG antibodies against the basement membrane. Seen in older people.

A

1-3cm blisters on inflamed or normal skin, can be eye involvement.

Skin biopsy shows positive immunofluoresence.

What is pemphigus?

A

Immunobullous disorders caused by IgG antibodies against desmosomes which leads to acantholysis. Seen in younger people.
