what is erythroderma?
?inflammatory skin disease affecting >90% of the total skin
Stevens Johnson Syndrome symptoms?
fever malaise arthralgia rash mouth ulceration (plus mucous membranes)
what is the ScorTen criteria?
age >40 malignancy HR >120 serum glucose >14 serum bicarbonate <20
what is erythema multiforme?
hypersensitivity reaction usually triggered by infection (HSV)
what happens in erythema multiforme?
abrupt onset of up to 100s of lesions over 24 hours
- distal to proximal
- palms & soles
erythema multiforme course?
self-limiting and resolves over 2 weeks
what is DRESS?
drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS)
timing in DRESS?
onset is 2-8 weeks after drug exposure
symptoms in DRESS?
fever and widespread rash
eosinophilia and deranged LFTs
Lymphadenopathy
what is the symptom of Pemphigus?
superficial blistering that are flaccid and rupture very easily
what happens in Pemphigus?
antibody targeted at desmosomes
