types of delusion
1.delusion of reference everything bad is reference to you 2.delusions of persecution people trying to harm you 3. delusions of grander example belief that one is clairvoyant

we’ve been condition from birth to not accept what is crazy or insane so most schizophrenics when they are firt diagnose deny it.
2.knowledge of the disorder
imbalance of neurotransmitters in brain but from the person with schizophrenia it feel more like a mystical ir religious experience and these feelings can be seductive.
3.medicational chemicals
like the blind have a seeing eye-dog the schizophrenic has medication.the medications have multiple side effects but their becoming better.
paranoid schizophrenic
delusional + audio hallucinations
catatonic schizophrenia
• Alternating immobility and excited agitation • Unusual motor responses (waxy flexibility, rigidity) • Odd facial or body mannerisms (often mimicking others) • Rare
disorganize schizophrenic
• Disorganized speech and/or behavior • Immature emotional- ity (inappropriate affect) (flat affect? also) • Chronic and lacking in remissions
Undifferentiated schizophrenic
not otherwise specify
Residual schizophrenic
• Has had at least one schizophrenic episode but no longer shows major symptoms • Still shows “leftover” symptoms (social withdrawal, bizarre thoughts, inactivity, flat affect) • negative symptoms but no positive and non catatonic
dopamine in schizophrenia
too much dopamine so medication blocks it but in 2/3rds of the populations meds dont work
medicating schizophrenia
neuroleptic drugs (ex. chorprozine) targets nervous symptom side effects : trimmers and tongue thrust
attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Developmental dis-
order featuring maladaptive levels of inattention, excessive activity, and
impulsiveness.
6months min 6+symptoms pervasive across settings
inattentive adhd (level 1)
(a) often fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or other activities; (b) often has difficulty
sustaining attention in tasks or play activities;
(c) often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly; (d) often does not follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace (not due to oppositional behavior or failure to understand instructions);
(e) often has difficulty organizing tasks and activities;
(f) often avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort (such as schoolwork or homework);
(g) often loses things necessary for tasks or activities (e.g., toys, school assignments, pencils, books, or tools);
(h) is often easily distracted by extraneous stimuli;
(i) is often forgetful in daily activities
hyperactive impulsive adhd (level 2)
6+ symptoms and 1 at least in both categories
Hyperactivity
(a) often fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat;
(b) often leaves seat in classroom or in other situations in which remaining seated is expected;
(c) often runs about or climbs excessively in situations in
which it is inappropriate (in adolescents or adults, may be limited to subjective feelings of restlessness);
(d) often has difficulty playing or engaging in leisure activities quietly;
(e) is often “on the go” or often acts as if “driven by a motor;”
(f) often talks excessively
Impulsivity
(g) often blurts out answers before questions have been completed;
(h) often has difficulty awaiting turn;
(i) often interrupts or intrudes on others (e.g., butts into conversations or games)
