benefits of an ageing population
Benefits of an ageing population
Many older people pass on their experience and knowledge.
Some may be wealthy, having lots of leisure time and are therefore good consumers.
Many retired people do voluntary work in schools and for charities.
Many fulfil childcare roles for their grandchildren.
disadvantages of a youthful population
Youthful populations see lots of young people fighting over the available jobs as there is not enough for everyone.
There is a strain on healthcare services due to the number of youths and many of them can’t access the health care.
Education services are stretched because the government cannot afford to provide enough schools or teachers for all the young people.
