6
Q

describe how a u - shape valley is formed

A
  • before a a glacial period there is a v - shape valley
-during a glacial period a glacier erodes the v - shape valley through and abrasion
  • in an interglacial the glacier retreats leaving a u shape valley and a glaciated upland

Q

describe plucking and abrasion

A
  1. the ice freezes around and under rocks under the glacier and then plucks them out

10
Q

how do striations occur

A

when a glacier erodes a landscape plucking and abrasion occurs and then these rocks scrape the bedrock wearing it away which leaves behind a smooth rock with striations in it from the abrasion
