Characteristics of low air pressure
A
-Warm air rises:
Cools, condenses and forms clouds
- Precipitation (rain, snow, sleet, hail)
- Brings high winds, clouds
- Clouds act as a blanket overnight keeping temperatures warm

A
- Air cools and sinks to the ground:
Pressure increases - Cool air is warmed as it reaches the ground
- Any clouds evaporate
- Clear skies left behind (no precipitation) and calm weather
