Air Systems Flashcards

1
Q

BMC

A

Bleed Monitor Computer
Controls engine bleed valves

BMC’s command valves closed when:
Bleed leak
Over press or temp
Reversed airflow is sensed
When APU bleed is selected on
ENG BLEED pb is selected
ENG FIRE pb is pressed

Q

Bleed air leaks

A

Wing and crossbleed duct monitored by double loop

APU and engine pylons have single loop

BMC’s automatically close associated bleed valve if a leak is detected

Q

Cargo Heat and Ventilation

A

Controlled on the CARGO HEAT overhead panel

Displayed on COND & CRUISE pages

17
Q

Lavatory extraction fan

A

Runs continuously when electrical pwr is on the airplane

18
Q

Battery ventilation

A

A Venturi pulls air over the batteries

19
Q

Avionics ventilation

A

On ground uses the “Open Configuration” which uses outside air.
Skin exchange isolation valve is closed in open configuration

On ground the “Closed Configuration” when cold temps on ground.

“Closed Configuration” is used in flight. Uses skin exchanger

Open configuration inlet and extract valves open and closed configuration they’re closed

“Intermediate Configuration”
Extract valve partially open
Used on grd and airborne in hot temps

20
Q

Avionics Smoke Configuration

A

Avionics Configurations
Open
Closed
Intermediate
Smoke
All automatic except smoke
Smoke configuration requires abnormal procedures placing the BLOWER & EXTRACT pb’s to override and that accomplishes:
Inlet, Extract, Bypass underfloor, skin exchanger, valves all close
Blower fan stops Extract fan continues to run
AC inlet valve opens
Small internal flap on extract valve opens

21
Q

Cargo Heat

A

Completely automatic

CARGO HEAT overhead panel

Displays on COND page
