A
  • Line up using Maximum runway
  • Nose-wheel aligned w/ runway
  • Hold brakes
  • Apply full power, Verify
  • Release brakes
    - Maintain directional control w/ rudder
  • 59 KIAS Vr
  • Pitch for 64 KIAS Vx-climb angle
  • 100ft clear of obstacles, pitch 66 KIAS Vy
  • 500ft pitch for 70 Prop, Fuel Pump, Flaps, Lighting
  • Resume normal climb

SOFT-FIELD TAKEOFF

A
  • back pressure on the stick
  • Avoid heavy braking during taxi
  • Full back pressure on the stick
  • Smoothly apply full power
    - Maintain directional control w/ rudder
  • Partially release back pressure as nose-wheel lifts
    - Maintain nose-wheel in air
  • LIFTOFF WILL OCCUR PRIOR TO Vr
  • Pitch down to accelerate to 64 KIAS Vx
    - Reaching Vx continue climb out
  • Clear of obstacles, resume normal climb

A
  • Normal approach & airspeeds (90, 80, 70)
  • On final, select aiming point short of touchdown point
  • Establish stabilized glide path to the aiming point
  • Red, Blue, Green, White Checklist
  • Short final, slow to 65 KIAS
  • Over aiming point IGE, power to idle
  • Normal touchdown

  • Stabilized glide path to touchdown zone
  • Red, Blue, Green, White Checklist
  • For touchdown, reduce throttle (stay above idle)

  • Throttle to idle
    (Avoid Heavy Braking)

  • Increase power to 22” & 50 deg bank
  • Increase back pressure on stick

  • Roll out 15 deg prior
  • Repeat opposite direction
  • Recover to cruise flight
  • Power 18” & Propeller 2300 RPM

  • Decrease A/S until STALL HORN (Baseline)
  • Maintain +5/-0 KIAS
  • Maintain ALT w/ power 18+”
    - Power for ALT
    - Pitch for A/S
    - Turns no greater than 15 degrees
  • RECOVERY
  • Apply full power & Flaps to T/O
  • Above 70 KIAS Flaps Retract
  • Maintain ALT & HDG Pitch for 90 KIAS
  • Pitch for cruise flight
  • Power 18” Propeller 2300 RPM

  • Pitch up above horizon and Announce “STALL” and “BUFFET”
  • RECOVERY
  • Pitch 5 degrees below horizon
  • Apply full power
  • Flaps T/O
  • About 70 KIAS Establish climb & Flaps up
  • Safe ALT pitch for cruise flight
  • Power 18” Propeller 2300 RPM

SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE

  • Pitch for Vg 70 KIAS
  • Announce Emergency Landing Point
  • ALT permitting troubleshoot/ ATTEMPT RESTART (or secure the engine)
  • Squawk 7700 and Announce to ATC or 121.5
  • EXTEND Flaps on FINAL
  • ELECTRICAL MASTER OFF
  • NORMAL TOUCHDOWN
