SOFT-FIELD TAKEOFF

A
  • Apply back pressure on stick
  • Avoid heavy braking
  • Align nose wheel with runway centerline
  • Smoothly apply full power and maintain directional control with rudder pedals
  • Nose gear will depart surface prior to Vr Rotation Speed
  • Partially release back pressure on stick
  • Lift off will occur prior to Vr 59 KIAS Rotation Speed
  • Within IGE pitch for Vx 64 KIAS Best Angle of Climb
  • 100ft / Clear of obstacles pitch for Vy 66 KIAS Best Rate of Climb
  • 500ft Checks -Pitch for 70, Prop -2300 RPM, Flaps -retract, Fuel Pump -off, Lighting -off
  • Resume normal climb

  • Normal approach altitudes and airspeeds (90, 80, 70 KIAS)
  • Downwind Flaps T/O, Establish stabilized glide path, Announce aim point short of landing point
  • Base Flaps Landing, GUMPS
  • Short final 65 KIAS
  • Above the aim point, IGE and Idle
  • Upon touchdown, Flaps retract, Simulated Maximum Braking

  • Repeat opposite direction
