cular surgery and suggested improvement
in anaesthetic care for major vascular cases

‘An acute problem’ (2005) — reviewed the
care of medical patients referred to ITU.
Advocated involvement of consultants in
referral and acceptance and critical inci-
dent reporfing for delays in lTU admission

‘Caring to the end’ (2008) reviewed the
process of care of patients who died in
acute hospitals within four days of admission
and took a critical look at areas where the
care of patients might have been improved

Current reports in 2011 include elective
and emergency surgery in the elderly and
perioperative care
